This place is amazing, it is SOOOO beautiful. Just a short nice hike down the hill to get there, have a swim in cool water, and walk all around the natural pool through the open cave structure to get to the waterfall. Hiking shoes to get there are useful. Get there early. It is quite a drive, limited parking, limited... More

Hamilton pool was an unexpected surprise. Without thinking much about it I decided to go. I am very glad I did. Nestled away from the bustle of the city, you suddenly find yourself in the midst of all that is nature. The short trail walk to the pool reminds you the joys of movement, and the pool itself looks so... More

We couldn't swim during our visit to Hamilton Pool due to bacteria, but just walking around and enjoying the view was great!

But 3-stars because it is overrun by too many humans. I'm a retired geologist who specialized in limestones -- and that's what this geologic site is all about. Because of the long Texas drought, the lovely pool seemed a bit stagnant looking. This is a sinkhole -- a former underground cavern in limestone whose roof has collapsed - that is... More

This pool is awesome! I think it cost about $7 per car (as many people that can fit) and it's worth it. It is a bit of a hike to get down to the pool, you should be in reasonable shape. Once you get to the bottom you can take a right to head to the pool, or a left... More

Visited on a lovely sunny day, my husband went to college in the area years ago. There was a $10.00 fee to see the pool. It was an easy walk down to the water, too many people there though. Took several pictures and enjoyed the day.

This place is beautiful and absolutely amazing! Long hike to get there down lots of big rocks, so bring hiking shoes or beach shoes. $10 per car. Hours are 9am to 6pm. Best times to go are weekdays early in the morning to avoid crowds. Too many people and they start a line to get in: 1 car in after... More

This place is a great! If you like nature, hiking and water you will love hamilton Pool Preserve. Entrance fee is $10 per car, you can take a little cooler with some snacks and have a great time. There are two trails: the short one will take you to the pool and the longer one will take you to Pedernales... More

One of the truly beautiful places around Austin. Bring your bathing suits, sun screen, and hiking shoes and stay the day. Great for the kids and relaxing for the adults. It can get fairly crowded at times, so your best bet is to go on "off" day.

If you are thinking about going, DO IT! There is a trek that you have to walk down to the pool, so wear shoes that have a bit of traction is my suggestion. Bring anything you might need as once down there, is just the pools. The sand is nice and the water is clean. Beautiful views and gets you... More
