The museum and park are free, and a great service/contribution to the community. We visit there frequently, as they have stuff for kids of all ages to stay amused.

it was neat to walk around in but there was not much to it.
It has an indoor museum and an outdoor play area for kids.
More than we expected. Really enjoyed it! Nice staff. Interesting to learn the story behind the museum. Loved the general store, too.
If you have a hour or two that you need to occupy your little ones this is a great free.. yes FREE place to take them. As long as a room full of stuffed animals (the real kind) won't scare them! Very enjoyable. Friendly staff, and the free admission makes it a nice place to take a group of people. Tina is the curator and she is just the sweetest person on the planet! Make sure you say hello when you go. The old country store in the middle of the museum is by far the best part!
Don't know how I missed this place in past visits to Tyler but glad to find it this time. I was also surprised to find it's FREE! The animals were interesting and the general store was really neat to see how things were long ago. There was also interesting memorabilia in the hall ways. Spent quite a bit of time...

This museum is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My kids really enjoyed seeing the wildlife and the antiques inside. The staff is extremely friendly.
The promo materials for this place make it sound like an excellent cultural and historical experience, but it's basically a disturbing collection of taxidermy and a small "general store" display. The taxidermy was disrespectful and not at all like a natural history museum (for example, monkeys playing Monopoly). The whole experience was just disappointing and unsettling.
Brookshire's museum and country store was very quaint and charming. It was rather small but it was nice for my kids to tour. It does not take long b/c the museum itself is 2-3 galleries and then the country store. They do not want you touching the food/animals within the museum and store. That makes the learning experience not as...
