Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Wasatch Mountain Range is an imposing and breathtaking national treasure. It is approximately 160 miles in length, and extends from the Idaho border to central Utah. The Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons are located on the east side of the Salt Lake Valley. This area of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest is filled with spectacular vistas, hiking trails, rock climbing opportunities, ski resorts, camping, and numerous photo ops. It is a beautiful area with numerous recreational activities!

I have always been enthralled with this mountain range. When I lived in Wyoming in the early 80's, any time I would be able to drive close to this vista I would always think "Man in the Wilderness"! Imposing, awesome, fearsome...all things I have felt. We took them in again upon our departure from the SLC area.

If you love nature and love walking on trails. This is truly a must. We've been to many different state parks, national forests and I have to say this was the best for us. So many trails to hike. We seen moose, deer, and an abundance of wildlife. Obviously, the moose was a high point but we respected it and gave it plenty of space! Even the drives were filled with beauty. Overall this has been our favorite!

We went to Emigration Canyon in the Wasatch Range. The drive up is paved and scenic. It was only about a 15 minute drive from Salt Lake City and there was a nice temperature drop from the city heat. There are lots of pull off areas so pictures can be taken. At one point, we reached a beautiful lake that was down below the mountains. It was very picturesque. There were some trails to hike but no dogs were allowed and we had our guy with us. The reason is that the area is a water shed canyon that supplies water to the residents of Salt Lake City.

We were recently in Park City Utah for a week and went to both Wasatch - Cache National Forest to see the Uintas Mountains and to Big Cottonwood Canyon. Both were gorgeous and worth the trip.
We went on two trails while in the National Forest:
Wall Lake

We didn't realize we were entering Wasatch National Forest until we saw the sign as we entered. It was beautiful and had a cute little creek.
