Its just a stunning place to visit, stay at the "The View" hotel and sun rise is just beautiful. Take the tour, go with one of the tour jeeps or van and they take you to the internal roads which you cannot go to and those places inside are just outstanding. Its like a natural fort. If you go to... more

Reviewers on this site are either overwhelmed by the beauty of Monument Valley or underwhelmed in comparison to the Utah national parks. I have red dust in my blood, a former Utahn, and I know both views to be true. The park is beautifu,l but the Utah National parks are more accessible and are presented better. I would say you... more

Though I'm told there are places as spectacular, I find it hard to believe. Monument Valley is unbelievably beautiful and surreal, like snaking through the ruins of a magnificent city of giants. The road through the valley is unpaved and potholed, so be prepared to drive slowly and get bumpy, but it's worth it. I recommend going in about 3... more

Wow, what amazing country. We visited late afternoon and saw the sun set display. Beautiful colours. 3hrs was plenty. Definitely fit in a sun rise or sun set if you can. Don't be too worried about your car, a sedan can handle the dirt road around monument valley no problem (so long as you can). If you've ever been off... more

If you don't have any other places to go in the area and have never been to Utah national parks, then Monument Valley may be interesting to see. But if you're trying to decide between Monument valley and Grand Canyon North Rim, or any of the Utah national parks, I'd say go to the national parks first. What you see... more

This is a no-miss. Hire a tour company - a smaller one is the best way to go! more

Monument Valley is not a National Park. It is not carefully maintained, has no park rangers, no nice maps and folders. However, it is more expensive to visit that a regular park: $6/person which sums up to $36 for my family of 6, compared to the $25 charged at other nearby parks (Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce) and for a 7... more

We drove thru on our own and the road was a little rough, but there is no other place like this. Pictures cant do it justice. I see this place in movies... more
