A beautiful day at the beautiful Antelope Island. At $9 a carload it was a true bargain. We saw several hundred bison, some of which were very close, crossing the road right in front of our car. The scenery is, without question, breathtaking. The ranch is extremely interesting and what seems to be very authentic. It was the end of... more

Visited Antelope Island in late September of 2009. It was a fantastic time. We rented horses from R & G horse and wagon at the Garr Ranch. The scenery was great and the wildlife amazing. We saw bison, pronghorns and a coyote. The trail ride was reasonably priced and very enjoyable for everyone in our party. Jessica our guide was... more

I have to start off that we did not try to camp here and could see absolutely no reason to do so unless you were a masochist. Parts of the island do smell, there are no large shade trees anywhere on the island, and there are lots of bugs when you get close to the Lake. . However, this is... more

I was at Antelope State Park in early March, so naturally there were no bug issues. I paid the fee and drove about 150 yards and saw a large bird on a rock. I got out my 300 mm Canon lens and found that the bird was a bald eagle! I snapped a bunch of shots and realized when I... more

Antelope Island is a great place to see the scenic beauty of the Great Salt Lake. The park is so large that almost any time you visit it feels entirely secluded. Bison, Pronghorn, porcupine, jackrabbit, bobcat, badger, and coyote abound, as well as numerous species of owls and shorebirds. The views from every side of the island are spectacular, and... more

I'm sure that there are many good qualities to Antelope Island, but I feel compelled to share my experience because it is in the bottom lines of several reviews but not at the fore. My wife and I were driving back from Montana and wanted to camp at Antelope Island for the night. Making may stops along the way, we... more

We went to Utah for ski trip. My husband ski's. I do not. I am however, into photography. I decided to check out Antelope Island. I am glad that I did. This place is so remote. I went two times, once when it was raining off and on and once when it was sunny. I am glad I retured the... more

Antelope Island State Park was awesome. It was a great afternoon and no crowds. The lake was beautiful from every angle. The reflection of the mountains onto the lake was amazing. The Fielding Garr Ranch was awesome. On the roads, you can find Bison and I'm guessing Antelopes (since it's called Antelope Island, maybe not) roaming the prairie. It was... more

Antelope Island is a wonderful way to access the Great Salt Lake. Nice beach from which to float in the lake. Showers available to wash the salt off afterwards- key! Plentiful wildlife including antelope, bison, jack rabbits. Stayed at a small campground overnight (July 30 2008), which was only 1/3 full- sites are at edge of the beach, well-spaced with... more

Ahh, home on the range, where the deer and the antelope roam... The staff at the visitor center was very nice and knowledgeable. We watched a short film presentation, then started off on our tour of the island. It was a fascinating and extremely enjoyable day. During our visit, we saw buffalo - on the open range. We saw them... more
