My son chose because of Genetics major...not many around. Provided great opportunities and also off campus housing for 2nd year and on. Opportunity to work in a research lab as sophomore provided lucrative opportunities later in pHD programs after graduation. City is college centric...free public transportation.

The cost of tuition is high, but my daughter greatly enjoyed going to school here and I enjoyed visiting her there.

Our son attends UVM and it is a perfect place. The history of the campus is very interesting and worth investigating, and you have to love the location with a view of Lake Champlain, and the mountains - just beautiful!

This school has the "Goldilocks" feel -- it's just right. Larger campuses like Cornell or Penn State (University Park) can be intimidating and require a bicycle at a minimum to get around. Any smaller and it would feel more like a community college. Touring the newer school buildings, it seems like they have invested updating their facilities while trying to... More

My husband revisits the campus each time we visit Burlington. College was established in 1791 so there are many historic buildings to see. The campus is easy to get around with many markings as to where various buildings are. There are even parking meters for those paying a quick visit.

It's OK for what it is, but it often tries too hard to claim and pretend that its is better than it actually is. Its liberal arts are solid but, unfortunately, they are losing ground in funding to a lower-level business school. UVM has to learn where its true strengths lie. Its library has needed upgrading for 25 years, but... More

Really the whole point of visiting Vermont was to look at this school, and I loved it. But if you really want to know about, i suggest looking at a professional review such as the Princeton Review, or go visit their yourself.
