It really is more like 3.5/5 rather than 4. The ski in ski out option is great - you really are at the base of the mountain, particularly with Liftside condos. The condos are very comfortable, but bring sugar, salt, pepper, cofffee. It is a big muscular mountain - there is skiing here for everyone in your family. From the... More

Positives: This is a GREAT place for lessons. 5 of our group signed up for the private lessons (4 hours!). Kids had a great time and they were ready to ski Stowe the next day. It was a lot less than lessons would have been at Stowe. You can't go wrong here. There is a lot of terrain and variety... More

Despite the mild winter, I had to get out on the slopes if just once this season. My friends and I stayed in a suite at Smugg's on President's Day weekend, and I feared the worst in terms of crowds. Thankfully that wasn't an issue, mostly due to the season, but partly due to the painfully slow double chair lifts.... More

I was a little skeptical about driving down here for four days with my 9,5 and 2 year old children. Its a seven hour drive from NYC. When we arrived the check it was nice and smooth cause everything was preordered a few months in advance and all my husband had to do was go into the office pick up... More

Smuggs has great potential if they would update the facilities. We visited there in the late 80's and would swear not much(if anything) has really changed. Lifts are slow. Services on the mountain need to be upgraded as well. Food at Madonna base was awful- in restaurant and cafeteria. Condos in West community were spacious but modest. Housekeeping could do... More

Full service destination with indoor and outdoor recreation, pool, great activities and facilities for kids and also a good set of bars/restaurants. Great skiing.

This is an hour away from Stowe, but the skiing was better! The runs are longer and more varied and because of the location, there were fewer people! However, because the road from Stowe is closed, it is a bit of a trip!

I have a timeshare here for over twenty years. Skiing conditions are not always great but the resort is especially families. I went recently with my son and his business partner and had a great time. My 24 year old son learned how to ski here and he loves coming back here.
