We were delighted to discover that this site is open all year. It offers self-guided tours of Henry's last home, grave and grounds. The small museum holds a fascinating collection of memorabilia. The location also maintains a genealogical library that can be consulted by the Patriot's descendants, There are trails to walk along the Staunton River. Be sure to watch... More

Tucked away in the hills of Virginia, it is not easy to find. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The tour of the grounds was self guided so we were at our leisure. The museum was small but well appointed. Worth the trip if you are a history enthusiast.

The home of Patrick Henry and a truly beautiful location in Virginia. Make it a point to go here. The staff is wonderful and very helpful.

I'm a big fan a Patrick Henry and was totally bored with this attraction. The main house was built in the 1950's as a replica of what probably stood there in the 1780's. The estate is literally in the middle of nowhere. At least Patrick's grave was original and was something to look at. Don't go out of your way... More

This is a nice place to visit to learn about Patrick Henry. The grounds and house are in excellent condition and the small museum is impressive. However, it is in a really remote location. To make it worth the drive I would combine it with a visit to Appomattox, which is about 30 miles away.

First, the lady that was working on the day we went was very informative & friendly. Unfortuneately, we didn't get her name but she is a wonderful ambassador fo Red Hill. We didn't know much about Patrick Henry other then his famous speach. This brought the man to life & showed what an impressive man he was.

We have visited Red Hill many times throughout the years for the 4th of July, which is always enjoyable. This time we made a point to visit during the "off" season. First, the history of Patrick Henry and his home is simply fascinating. The grounds are lovely, it is very private and often times there are only a few people... More

Red Hill is a great tourist destination that is off the beaten track. Patrick Henry is one of the greatest American patriots. The property is simply gorgeous with many mountain views. There is the main house, Henry's law office, the servant’s quarters, the blacksmith's workshop and several other buildings on the property along with a nice museum. Henry served as... More

On a short spontaneous trip up to Lynchburg, VA, we were looking for something to stop and do on the trip North from NC. We just happened to find Red Hill, Patrick Henry's home, on Trip Advisor in Brookneal, VA. This visit ended up being our favorite stop - much more than what we saw in Lynchburg. We have three... We actually first heard about Red Hill via TripAdvisor, and since another similarly discovered place had been such a treat, we figured this was certainly worth a try, especially since we love history, particularly that of the Revolutionary era. Red Hill is a quiet, serene place. It wasn't busy the day we were there, so we were able to take... More
