Not much in the way of a restaurant, but a u-pick apple farm. The view is fantastic and the apples are very good.

My husband and I have been here a few times in the fall for apple picking. The selection is incredible and the apples DELICIOUS! We also had some fantasic cake donuts, that you must get when you visit. They offer a variety of activities for adults and children, and my husband and I can't wait to go back soon for... More

We did a hard cider tasting there that proved to be very interesting. The owner were very friendly and informative.

Fun, fun, fun but can get very crowded on festival weekends. Longggggg drive up the mountain if it's crowded - be prepared to entertain your children!

Carter's is always busy during the picking season, but its truely amazing views and family environment make it all worth the crowd. Enjoy some adult time in the wine shops, take a hay ride through the orchard, pick pumpkins during fall, or just enjoy a view of Charlottesville. Follow up with a visit to Monticello or a walk on the... More

Fresh fruit, a beautiful view, and a cute little shop. Definitely worth stopping by since it is just down the street from Monticello and Mitchie Tavern. Make sure you have 4-wheel drive as there are plenty of spots on the drive up that we got very very nervous about our car not making it!

We go on weeknight evenings to pick apples in the fall - in 2010 we were caught in a 4-hour traffic jam trying to get to a Fall Harvest Festival weekend they were hosting. Recommend avoiding those weekends if you can as the crowds are immense. Views are awesome, and the apple cider donuts are yummy. If you go on... More

Carter's Mountain is packed on fall weekends, when they offer apple picking, a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and more. But this hilltop location offers beautiful views of the area year-round, as well as summer peaches, yummy doughnuts, and more.

Some of the best views you will find in the area. Can get crowded during prime season, but get there early enough and you will be fine. Their donuts are awesome too!
