My husband and I found the museum boring. We went to see the lamp from the lighthouse. And that was the main attraction. The rest is mostly older exhibits about oysters and maritime. There is a small tv that was playing an interesting video, but the tv is very small. It is a good place for learning about oysters. But... more

Great little spot to learn more about the island and its history, love the video too. Great way to spend some time if it is raining. my grandchildren loves going there year after year. more

If you visit Chincoteague you must stop by here! The Museum gives you a look back in time and gives you a history lesson about the history of Chincoteague! more

This museum is more than what it looks like from the outside. It is the site of an amazingly large and diverse set of artifacts from the Eastern Shore. The original light that was used in the Assateague lighthouse is there. If you don't understand what a fresnel lens is and how it works you will after seeing the original... more
