Superb display of aircraft - Museum admission is free but be prepared to pay a hefty parking lot fee

This is a wonderful museum (and you don't have to go into D.C.!). Even for someone like me who is not an aviation nut, it's a great opportunity to see how the history of aviation has evolved and the role aviation has played in history. You can also watch the planes land from nearby Dulles International Airport. Kids, both young... More

We were just there and we stayed for about an hour. Glad it was free but also glad we stopped. Seeing the shuttle up close was cool but we are not history buffs so it was a quick trip. Plenty of parking ($15) and security similar to the airport.

Recently visited this museum with my teenage son while on a trip to DC. WOW! We were blown away as soon as we walked in. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The hanger is filled with all sorts of air and space craft including the Space Shuttle, which was a thrill to see. My son especially enjoyed seeing the aircraft... More

After seeing the Air and Space Museum on the Mall we heard that the Spaces shuttle was here and in fact the DISCOVERY arrived one month ago right from space. It was spectacular to stand under it's wings and tail and see how immense it looked not having seen it before in this type of setting. I recommend you take... More

It's a great place. The space exhibit was amazing. Take the tour the info you learn about the shuttle. They have every type of aircraft you can think of. and if you into a quick cheap meal they have Mcdonalds. Be sure to see the other museum in D.C. if you can but if you can only see one this... More
