We had an entire day to travel the Skyline Drive, so we decided to begin with a stop at the Skyline Caverns. The tours are not formally assigned a start time, but are spaced out so that tours do not run into one another. A school group was ahead of us and we waited about 25 minutes before beginning. Our... more

This is a great "Cave Tour" as long as you see it before Luray Caverns. These caverns do not have many formations but it's still cool to see these rooms carved out of the earth. If you see Luray first as I did, these can be somewhat disappointing. If you go here first you will be impressed and then go... more

I was really facinated about hearing this tape after what I read on Tripadvisor. It was the night before our big trip, and while I should have been sleeping, I read the below reviews on Tripadvisor. I told my husband all about it enroute to the cave the next morning. Our really cool tour guide was wonderful. He was having... more

Me and the husband went to Skyline Caverns. We had a small group with a very nice tour guide. It was kind of annoying that they had to turn off all the lights every 5 minutes but whatever. We used the AAA card and saved 4 bucks. The tour was short and sweet with a religious recording in the middle.... more

Well overpriced for what there is to see. Uncovered cables are hanging from everywhere and there is not much to see at all. There is so much concreat that the cave looks all artificial. The guide was turning off the lights behind us to save on electricity which killed the tour. For the $16 we paid, they could have kept... more

I have been to many caves and this is one of the most bizarre cave tours I have ever been on. The cost for this cave is a pricery $16 per person (save $2 per person with AAA membership) and probably a little bit overpriced. The tour itself is 1 1/4 miles long and takes about an hour. We visited... more

I agree with many of the other reviewers that the religious "sermon" half-way through the tour wsa OUTRAGEOUSLY disturbing. I did not pay $16 to hear fundamentalist propaganda! And our tour guide did not give us a warning; we were told it was a "light show." Then we had to look at a formation they call the "Shrine," which I... more

No religious stuff on our tour. The "shrine" is just shown as that, no music. Take a tour of any caverns in VA and you will see the electric cables - looks like Skyline had done an adequate job of blending them into the walls. We went before 10am and only 5 people in our tour group, which makes it... more

Took a friend that was visiting from Nebraska. He enjoyed the tour as did my wife and I. Our group had all ages and everybody had fun. The guide was great. One of the few caverns where you can take pictures. It cost $16, but you can get $2 off each ticket with AAA discount. I also, saw a sign... more

I went there, very fun place. Our tour guide had great personality. And he mixed humor in with education. There was a light show that has religious content, but the tour guide told us before, so if you don't want to see it then you wouldn't have to. If you go into any caverns, they will tell you that you... more
