cold inside but roomie with great food. Great agility courses on dirt floor - but all those stairs were a DOWNER.
The Virginia Horse Center was designed by people who understand horse shows. The barns, show rings, parking, campsites, grazing areas and pathways between all the above are comfortable and convenient on foot and on horseback, even when hosting a large national level horse show. The natural beauty of the surroundings and views, especially from the dressage rings up on the... More
On the plus side, VHC has wonderfully sized stalls, bathrooms with showers, several arenas with better than average footing. Though I didn't partake, I was happy to discover a different food vendor with some healthy choices. this is an improvement over the solitary array of fried foods as in the past. However, I couldn't help but notice how much in... More
As an avid horse lover, I've been to this facility several times. Always I've enjoyed the experience. When I was there as a rider years ago they were bedeviled by groundhog holes on the cross country course, with small warning flags all over the place. On my last visit I looked for the flags but didn't see any. Problem solved,... More
Very impressive rings and main ring. Staff doesn't return phone messeges, ... ever... Very disheartening, as I had called regarding lost and found items, golf cart rental, etc. and no call back. Great that they are across the street from Dover Saddlery!
We were there for the USPC National Championships. Things were well run, well kept and it is easy to get around to the various arenas, several of which are covered. A They also have a wonderful coliseum.
We traveled here for the United States Pony Club East Coast Championships. The facility was very well maintained and comfortable, and supportive of this fantastic organization. Thank you for hosting this event, and we will be back!
My wife, two daughters, (14 and 11) and I stopped at this facility on the way back from a trip to Virginia Tech to kill some time and check the place out. The location is easy to get to off of Highway 81 and the signs directing you are clear and placed well. We got there a bit early on... More
We visited the centre during a riding competition. The lady at the information kiosk was very helpful, explained the programme of events and made us feel welcome. We had a very pleasant time watching several riders in the jumping arenas and performing dressage. It was lovely to see so many talented young riders.
