We visited Arromanches (Gold Beach) and decided to visit the museum, which is directly on the beach, Good price and well presented with a lot of information by the staff.

This museum highlights the construction and use of the Mulberry Harbor designed and built by the British to assist in the landing of men and supplies for the D-Day landings and more.

Unfortunately - this museum has something none of the other museums do and that is the floating Mulberry's. They simply do not do a good job of presenting it - the displays and films are cheesy and don't explain how the story of the Mulberry unfolded... we were very much disappointed - my husband is an engineer and was very... This interesting museum tells how troops created an artificial harbor off the coast of Arromanches as part of the D-Day landings. A big tour group took up a lot of the space during our visit. But the displays were interesting, telling the stories of people involved with documents, artifacts and mini models.

Crowded with coach trips, small but essential with gradual development so that it becomes more 21st century friendly. The moving sea models of the temporary harbours enthralled our son.

This museum was more or less dedicated to Mulberry harbor and was the only museum I visited to really give an idea of how big of operating the whole landing was.

Small museum but packed full of information mainly about the D-Day landings along Gold Beach and above all the significant engineering feat to build and erect the mulberry harbour (parts of which you can still see out to sea today).
