Absolutely beautiful. I recommend visiting during the afternoon, when all the shops are closed so you can take advantage of the quiet, empty streets.

I first visited Naxos as a 20 something more years ago than I care to admit. I was thrilled to find that the beautiful Old Town, built on the side of the small hill crowned by its Venetian "Kastro" citadel, is still as magical as ever. Naxos is a welcome alternative to over-crowded, over-touristed Mykonos.

It feels like walking in a different era. Really amazing.

Lots of great shops and old timers with great stories. Check the times the church is open as when we climbed all the way up there in the heat it was closed.

I loved Naxos so much I decided to go back next year. It is full of charm, one can walk around and trully enjoy the magical island that Naxos is.

We love Naxos, it has everything you want for an Island holiday, lovely beaches and a lovey old town with lots of little passage ways to explore, where you will find little bars and restaurants tucked away, or you can eat/drink over looking the harbour, which is lovely at sunset.
