Velia and Gianluca came to a villa I was staying at to teach me and a group I was staying with how to cook authentic Italian cuisine. I was expecting a cooking class but got so much more! We spend hours cooking, dancing, drinking wine, and eating the amazing food we prepared! It was a truly unique and wonderful experience.... more

We travelled from Umbertide to Velia's cooking class but got lost a few kilometres away. I phoned Velia and Gianluca came to find us and we followed him to Borgo Fontanile. We had a wonderful time with our two daughters, and Velia and her friends. Velia cooked up a storm - it always seems so easy when the pros are... more

My boyfriend met Velia and Gianluca in Orvieto and then visited them at their bar/restaurant there. He told me that their dishes were amazing. When he told me that they also taught a cooking course, I begged him to sign us up. This class was indeed amazing!! I have taken many cooking classes in the U.S., including several courses in... more

Velia and GianLuca were warm, wonderful and so much fun! My 15 year old enjoyed every minute of cooking with Velia (and we enjoyed watching!) The food was fantastic and we walked away with a unique experience, a wonderful memory, and more than a few tricks in the kitchen to help us make our own Italian meal back home! I... more

Italian meaning: to fly And I am glad we did. We flew to Europe from California and drove down to the Orvieto area to spend some time with Velia and Gianluca ...based on a recommendation from a friend who met them last year. Velia was down to earth, energetic and funny.......oh yeah, she cooks, too. And while I think she... more

I had the pleasure of joining Velia De Angelis and Gianluca Antoniella for a day's cooking adventure at Borgo Fontanile, a charming B&B in the countryside near Orvieto. Velia is a joy to watch in the kitchen: animated, fun, down-to-earth and innovative. She surrounded herself with gracious and entertaining friends who assisted, including Gianluca and the folks who run Borgo... more

My partner Pete and I spent a lovely day with Velia and Gianluca. Both are so welcoming and fun to be with. Velia makes you feel as if already a great friend as soon as you meet her. We also had some wonderful food and left with very full stomachs. We are already planning a return visit with an idea... more

Last summer my family and I were fortunate enough to spend a day with Velia in her kitchen. We began the day with pane, panini, brioche, cornetti, marmellata, cappuccino, and strong espresso. Then after introductions and a leisurely breakfast, we got right to work. We learned the very essence of Italian cooking from a master. Soon my kids, Katharine, age... more

We stayed in Orvieto in May 2009 for 5 nights and wanted to do a cooking class. I asked Valentina (Valentina's B&B--great place to stay in Orvieto) for a recommendation, as well as another company I was in touch with and they recommended Velia's. I got in touch with Velia through email and arranged a one day class at Borgo... more

The class that Velia & GianLuca taught at my house in Texas was absolutely amazing. They are very great people are knowledgeable about the things that they teach! There were 12- 14 people and everyone had a great time. They will not disappoint you! The wine that they brought with them was amazing too! The experiences that you have with... more
