I happen to like Palliser wines very much, especially the juicy, mouth-watering sav. Actually the whole district produces excellent sauvignon blanc and pinot noir. Nice town, plagued by Wellingtonians in the weekends.

Free tasting, unlike many others. The gentleman who looked after us was friendly, knowledgeable and very patient given how close to "closing time" it was. He was very enthusiastic about the wines and obviously enjoyed telling us about them without being at all pushy. Surroundings were pleasant and the wines excellent.
This was the last winery we visited of the day (five in all). It didn't have the atmosphere or scenery like the other wineries we visited, but the wines were delicious, especially the Sauvignon Blanc. I even bought two bottles to pack away for my travels back to the U.S.
The winery was very interesting, the wines superb but staffing poor. Far too many people including booked groups for one staff member to cope with.We left without tasting the full range and visited the shop in the village for purchases.
Central location. Good selection of wines to taste.
