We have visited during Christmas and during August. Both of our visits have been outstanding. Everyone was friendly, helpful and very informative. We so enjoyed our visits and just wished we lived closer so we could enjoy this place more often.

Here's the good news: Stratford Hall is rich with history, the hall and outbuildings are well preserved, and the grounds and gardens are spectacular, especially on a sunny day. Now the bad news: The only place to eat is a 50's style dining room located in a cottage complex some distance from the main house and visitor center. The dining... More

This review includes additional comments from a power wheelchair bound visitor that don't downgrade our rating, they are FYI. We took a day trip to the plantation to take the great house tour. The grounds are very pretty, well marked and the staff was very pleasant starting right out at the entry gate where we paid the 9 dollar/per person... More

Toured great house and grounds. Gorgeous historic house in a beautiful setting. I wish the interpreter had more knowledge of the house and its construction.

Be sure to take the drive down to the Cliffs and Grist Mill - there is a beach and you can see the tall cliffs to... More

Took our friends from Ohio there. Trip was very enjoyable and the presenters were so good at telling the story of the history of the house. View was tremendous. Well worth the price of admission.

Coolest part is the grounds and seeing Robert E Lee's carving in the childhood room fireplace area.
