We decided to camp at Cape Disappointment after reading about the scenery, hiking trails, lighthouses, and beaches. Indeed, it is a beautiful place with an outstanding museum about Lewis & Clark, a cool lighthouse where you can climb to the top, some old forts to explore, and great views from the hiking trails. We've had the opportunity to visit Cape Disappointment State Park several times, and believe it affords some of the best views of the entire Washington coastline. The view from the park's Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center is particularly dramatic, a sweeping panorama of the mouth of the Columbia River.
