My exercise level is not too high and the hike to this one is longer than I like to do. The view from the area is gorgeous and you can still get some great pictures. There are other things to do in the area so worth the trip.

The trip was well worth it to see the lighthouse. Great views!!!
You should not pass this one by. The history, pictures and written word will take you a couple of hours. The views are too awesome for words. It's absolutely worth your time. This is a must stop!
Wonderful walk to a beautifully sited lighthouse, especially if the weather is kind.
Cape Disappointment lighthouse keepers house (we stayed at the Assistant keepers' house) is for rent from Washington State Parks department. The century-old two-story Victorian-period house features a comfortable place to weather a storm. We played cards and the kids watched dvds on the laptop. The next day we all visited the Lewis and Clark interpretive center, good for all ages....

I love it but it is a hike, if your not in shape it's not going to be easy! The other light is easier to visit and also absolutely stuning. It also often has tours for a small fee. Fun for kids and grown ups too! Bring a camera to either!
There are really two lighthouses to hike to. Watch for whales or a great sunset with a fabulous view of the opening of the Columbia river into the Pacific Ocean.....simply gorgeous....and walk the most western path of Lewis & Clark
There was nothing to dislike about the lighthouse when we went. Now they charge $10 to go in there so we won't be going back. I am sorry about that.
We watched waves crash against the cliffs from down below at a beach they call Wikiki. Millions of pounds of driftwood is piled up on this beach, it's incredible. The waves pounding against the rocks and the lighthouse looking down on it all was breath taking.
Visiting this lighthouse is a unique experience. The views are wonderful. You can see for miles....including the South and North Jetties as well as all the maritime traffic entering and leaving the Columbia River. This is also the best place to view the "bar" of the Columbia River.
Most would probably prefer to visit the lighthouse on a nice summer...
