My 3 y/o loved this museum. There is a kids play area downstairs, and a oldfasioned soda fountain where you can get an icecream cone. Good gift shop. Lots of native american bead work. Worth a morning/afternoon visit.

Is much like old time soda shop. Can buy basic things such as hotdogs, etc. Cute setup, and you can actually buy Soda's. Small and cozy but a wonderful and different change from the typical or mundane. Very enjoyable.
When I knew I was going to be here for a long weekend, I checked on line to the Yakima Events calendar, and found this exhibit going on.. I viewed the whole of the museum, early in the day, so I had the whole place to myself. Light, roomy and very educational!!
This is a really nice musuem and exceeded what I expected. My kids enjoyed it. A wide variety of exhibits and a fun experience.

Much better than I had anticipated! My kids (5 & 7) had a great time, and my husband and I enjoyed looking at the apple crate labels, antiques and exhibits.
While visiting family in the area, I looked up the Yakima Valley Museum on TripAdvisor and saw a handful of very good reviews. I figured this might be a moderately interesting diversion for my elderly parents and my two grown (20s) children and me.
We got there and the family price was certainly right... I don't remember for sure but...

We thought this was going to be a quick trip museum, plan on spending some time in here! Pretty COOL! Be sure to bring the kids along....
A relatively new museum with a very detailed and thorough collection of local history. A remarkable collection of petrified wood (some of the best I've sever seen) greets you as you make your way into the heart of the museum.
Expect to see "guest" exhibits that change from time to time - when we visited these included a remarkable collection...
