Recently visited Canaan from Ohio and New York (there were four of us). With the exception of the GM, who was a reasonable man, the two days we spent at the resort were below our expectations. We stayed here last weekend. It was simply okay. Definitely reinforced the old adage, "You get what you pay for." We chose Canaan Valley Resort because it was one of the least expensive options compared to other resorts in the PA/WV/MD/VA area and we just wanted a cheap weekend away. I had a wonderful experience at Canaan. The deer great you as you exit off remote route 32 in West Virginia. Our family stayed in two adjoining rooms in August of 2006. Our package included an ample and delicious breakfast each morning. The rooms were adequate and well kept.
