This is a great way to spend a few hours. You take the train up along the river and back. I'd advise you to pay extra to eat and sit in the dining car. We've done this with family a few times and I would do it again. It's just SO MUCH FUN!! The view is lovely and it's a... More

You are almost guaranteed to see a bald eagle during the ride. If you like trains you will certainly enjoy a trip on the Potomac Eagle.

Beautiful views, watched bald eagles in flight. Friendly people and a good investment in time for anyone who likes trains.

The train is very old, and not very comfortable. I did enjoy the scenery.

We had a beautiful ride from Northern Va and arrived early, wanting to make sure we were able to get a seat on the left (river) side of the train. We had no problem and were almost able to have a car by ourselves. The scenery was beautiful, we saw eagles, we got what was advertised. The employees were more... More

The trip was a nice ride however it was a little long. We did see some deer and a Bald Eagle. My husband got a little tired of looking at trees, and the river after a while.

We left promptly at 9 a.m. and returned about 6 p.m. This was one of only three, day - long excursions scheduled this... More

Husband and I rode the train to the trough and back to Romney on Oct. 16. It was a wonderful 3 hour ride. The train does not have heat. I was so glad I brought a hat and gloves and wished I had a lap blanket. The train slows way down in the trough area especially when a bald eagle... More
