Drove two hours to get to Wheeling. Went to Olive Garden at exit 10 and could literally not get out of the parking lot. Two hours later we headed for the park. Three hours to go 4 miles. Drove thru the park in 15 minutes. Pretty , but not worth the hours it took to get there. We did not... more

I grew up in the shadows of Oglebay Park's Festival of Lights and remember far enough back to a time when the lights were free! When I visited the lights with my family, then, I knew what to expect. I love the little acrobat bear and Pink Panther on a train (now a blue panther on a train, I might... more

We booked 32 rooms and a shelter at Oglebay this year for our family reunion. We went to the park last August to scope it. We talked to a woman in group sales and she took us on a tour. We liked what we saw and booked it for this July. When we booked our shelter, we were told the... more

Oglebay Park has a lot to offer but aside from its beauty and a pleasant path to walk upon much of its activities are average. The lodge provides a wonderful view of the grounds and a chance to determine what to do. The zoo is a tiny zoo with maybe a dozen animals. Its highlight is the miniature train exhibit.... more

I was traveling with my dog, and took him to the Oglebay Park. It has a beautiful garden and paths. It's a nice walk. The garden area isn't that big, and we probably spent about an hour there. The garden has a beautiful flower clock and an amazing view. more

Oglebay is a beautiful four seasons resort that I will always go back and visit. There is lots to do between the many golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pool, zoo, lake, ski slope, etc. One weekend isn't enough. Great place for families to gather as there are many picnic areas as well as cabins/rooms to rent. In October, there is... more

After arriving in the area over two hours prior to the closing of the Christmas lights for the night, we spent nearly 3 hours in line to get in, only to be greeted by...Nothing. Not even a sign saying sorry about your luck. Just a closed ticket booth with 500+ cars driving in every direction having no idea what to... more

We were at Oglebay Park Sunday, November 26, 2006 to see the Festival of Lights. We reserved a room at the Lodge ($139/night) which included breakfast the next morning. Check-in was flawless and our room was as nice as any other hotel room in that price range. The carpeting was new, bedding was comfy, and we didn't need to use... more

I took my two children to Oglebay for two nights a couple of weeks ago for one last summer fling. We visited Franciscan University and The Homer Laughlin China factory while we were in the area. Our stay at Oglebay can best be described as difficult and slightly nightmarish! The staff is very difficult to work with. It must be... more

When I was a kid we stayed a Wilson Lodge at Oglebay once in a while, and I loved it. Now an adult living in Louisiana, I took my little girl up to Wheeling a couple of winters ago and stayed at Wilson Lodge again. I still loved it. There's an indoor pool and gameroom for the kids. Deer wander... more
