Even if you aren't that interested in car racing it's a fun way to spend the day. Make sure you ware good walking shoes and bring a water bottle.
Watch the races? Buy some race-related clothing? People Watch? Work on your Tan? Road America has it all. Bring a lightweight portable chair and an umbrella--keeps the sun out of it gets too hot. This is is a great track in an idyllic location. There aren't many road race tracks in America, and I'm not sure why--this kind of racing is quite different from NASCAR (The drivers even have to turn RIGHT!) and it is very competitive.
Great location for Road Races. Lots of different views from tight corners to fast straight aways. Located on a large area so crowds are not oppressive and still provides great close vantage points for the action.
Europe has the nurburgring, we've got Road America. If you are a road racing fan and haven't yet, make the pilgrimage. I'm a season ticket holder and love the variety of racing available, motorcycle, vintage, SCCA, and now NASCAR. You can drive to many great viewing spots and except for NASCAR the pits are accessible. Buy your tickets ahead if you can because that is a huge discount.
