I've been here numerous times growing up, but this was my most recent visit (last was 6 years ago). We tent camped. Lots to do, nice grounds, nice beaches, hiking trails, etc. Didn't do the bike trails, but plenty of bikers around, hitting the trails (and bike rental at the park, as well as right outside). WI State Parks has... more

Campsites here are one of the best in the states. We camped at a site by Nicolet Bay, which was close to the water and full of trees, so it’s semi-secluded and tranquil. It is also very close to the Nicolet Bay Beach and seems great for the family. You can rent also rent kayaks at the concession stand and... more

We hiked with our Australian Shepherds. We chose a 5 mile loop from the beach near the end. Wow. Beautiful park. Canopy of trees almost all of the way. Great scenic stops along the shore of Green Bay. We were hiking but there were tons of cyclists on the path and on the road... mostly tourists but a few real... more

My family and i go to Peninsula State Park every year for 2 weeks. Its a great place and its our favorite vacation. It has many things to offer. There is a huge beach, a boat lauch, 3 playgrounds, 3 different campgrounds( my family stays at Tennison Bay because it is the nicest, we think.) There is also a great... more

We spent an afternoon hiking and biking Peninsula State Park in mid-October. First we hiked Eagle Trail, which I believe I read was rated strenuous - it isn't! (We're in our late '40's and in decent shape (not big athletes) and another party near us had a 10-year-old and 3 middle-aged couples). It was a very nice hike partially on... more

Peninsula State Park is one of the most peaceful we've visited. It's small enough that you can take it all in, but big enough that you don't feel crowded. The tree covered roads make it a beautiful and smooth tour on a "Segway" (the self-balancing battery powered two-wheeled people movers). Segway the Door conducts preliminary trainging and serve as guides... more

Peninsula Park was a great place for camping. We ended up with a nice wooded camp spot that was fairly private. There are great hiking trails within the park and small communities nearby. Its central location within Door County made it a good place for a basecamp. more

My husband and wanted to visit the park while in Door County and decided to rent bikes from the nearby Nor Door Bike Shop--an absolute must! We enjoyed the 15 mile ride through the park, biking on the Sunset trail to see the Lighthouse, a number of views of the water, and then continued on to the lookout tower. The... more

My boyfriend and I did not have a lot of time to spare, but still wanted to see the park, so we opted to drive through. You can get a one hour pass for $5, or an all day pass for $10. We opted for the one hour. The road takes you all the way through the park, no worries... more
