But whether you were born to be wild – or mild – makes no difference at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Much more than a nostalgia trip for motorcycle enthusiasts, the Museum offers a glimpse of American history and culture like you’ve never seen it before – through the successes and trials of an iconic American company. Interactive, eye-catching exhibits present an unparalleled collection of legendary stories of our nation’s last century. Located on 20 acres in downtown Milwaukee, the Museum offers free parking, Motor Bary & Restaurant, Cafe Racer, The Shop, park-like outdoor spaces, special event rentals, guided tours for group of 15 or more, and Steel Toe Tours of the Powertrain Operations, home of the big-twin engine.Special exhibit in summer 2012: Worn to be Wild: The Black Leather Jacket June 16-September 3. « less

I am not a Motorhead but I loved the museum. I do love American history though so this suits perfectly. H-D is very much part of the fabric of the US. The highlight, if I had to pick one, was sitting on the Harleys downstairs.

Great history of HD and Milwaukee. The hands on exhibits are fun. Yiu can even sit on a few bikes. Go up to the top level to see the restorations being done. Coolest part of the museum

We attended a college graduation luncheon, and the food was well above average for this sort of event. Service was excellent.

This is a top notch museum. Several different ways to tour, we chose the headphone route. You can chose whatever display you want to listen to. The history of motorcycles will amaze you, if you are new to them. I had no idea and have never been on one,but found the museum great. The part I liked best was the... More

We loved all the history around the Harley Museum. It was great to see how far the bike has evolved. It was also nice to see all the different tanks and how they have evolved over the years.

Even with a Harley-Davidson tourist brouchure and a map I could not find it...only one sign on exiting the highway...my cousin even works there and I still could not find it...good luck.

I long regard Harley-Davidson as a strong icon for American. So I decided to pay a visit, and spent 2 hours to walk around. Overall it is cool, with 450 bikes packed in. Not bad. You can witness a history of over 100 years in, say 2 hours. That is cool too. But I don't like the lighting here, too... More
