If you are in the Milwaukee area (don't make a special trip) by all means stop by to see the exterior of this museum. It is beautiful and unique. However, DO NOT pay the usurer admission rate of $14--or any amount--to enter the museum. The collection is "a whole lot of nothing" as an elderly neighbor of mine used to... more
The new building is an architectural gem on the shore of the lake. Watch the sail open & close. The Bradley collection of contemporary art in its own building is fantastic. Other genres are well represented. You will enjoy many hours here. Walk here from downtown hotels. more
This art museum is very special. Its collections of Twentieth Century Art,Nineteenth Century German Art,Haitian Art,and works by Gabrielle Munter,Ernst Ludwig Kirschner,Georgia O'[Keefe, and Carl Spitzweg are outstanding. While this museum's collections of Old Master paintings and French Impressionist paintings are not encyclopedic by ant stretch of the imagination,I still saw outstanding paintings by Nardo Di Cione,Jan Swart Von Groningen,Jan Goyen,Hendrick Van Vliet,Fragonard,Gerome,Andreas... more
The collection of art is impressive considering it's in Milwaukee, WI but even more impressive is the building itself. It's the most photogenic building I've had the pleasure to visit to date. They open and close the wings several times per day and if you have the time to experience that it's worth it. It's a must see as far... more
Wow! What a place! Even before we entered the MAM, we were entertained by the beautiful fountains in The Cudahy Gardens. Once inside, we were met by a nice man who asked us if we needed any help -- very... more
Quite a fascinating place, both inside and out. Walking around outside of it, and coming upon it walking near the lake, its quite a surprise. Inside, the way the light is tossed around by the glass, the different angles and different materials, its both stunning and very playful. more
Awesome. Don't miss it.! A truly awe-inspiring building in a beautiful location -- and a good collection. Also lunch in the cafe is quite pleasant- views of the lake and a nice salad and beverage selection. more
This is not the largest art museum. It does not have deep collections of old European masters, for example. The collection is stronger in American and modern works. The best part are exhibits that give meaning rather than just cataloging objects. One compares and contrasts three chairs from different eras and another shows why historical crafts cost more or less,... more
It is worth it to stop by this museum to see the "wings" open (or close) and go inside to look at the atrium area. I also went through the Degas exhibit which was quite well done and had a terrific audio tour. more
