Is the only way I can describe our 2 hour cruise on the backwaters of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge. What a great way to see the Mississippi River!! Our family saw 8 Bald Eagles, 1 otter and 2 mink. The Captain and first Mate were wonderfull. Very informative. Their river stories and life experiences kept me and the kids engrossed.I rate this experience tops on the list of things to do in Prairie du Chien, WI. « less

We took the Wednesday cruise out of Prairie du Chien at the peak of fall color, on a bright sunny day. Our captain and first mate were very entertaining and great about taking questions. We only saw two eagles (pretty close up), 2 blue herons and lots of turtles on our trip. Considering the size of the boat and the... More

My husband and son wanted to go on a two hour history river cruise on a beautiful fall day and I was a little reluctant. I brought along a paperback book to read worried that I'd be bored after the first half hour with a bad speaker.... What an idiot. The guide Michael Douglas (yes, his real name!) was great... More

We went on a saturday morning cruise on a beautiful summer day. We were expecting a relaxing float with the chance of seeing bald eagles. We did see them, and several herons, but the jewel of this trip was that we saw river otters! Besides the captain, there was a naturalist on board who was able to tell us about... More

This is a two-hour river tour on a relatively large boat (40-50 people). Half the tour is on one of the Mississippi's back channels; the return half is on the main shipping channel. We did see a number of bald eagles, but they're becoming so common these days that wasn't all that exciting if you've seen them before. The boat's... More

We took this cruise in La Crosse and Prairie du Chien, WI and both did a great job. Able to bring along our own picnic lunch, which was handy. Comfortable seats inside with large sliding glass windows. The boat had a bathroom which was greatly appreciated. Very nice cruise and well worth the money.

My husband and I took the 2 hr fall foliage tour on Oct. 23rd. Admittingly, probably not as many fall colors as I was expecting, but that's up to Mother Nature. We found the cruise to be a good value. You are allowed to bring on snacks and beverages if you like. There is limited seating outside, which at first... More
