We stayed one night at Arnott's Lodge to get the discount on the Mauna Kea Summit Tour, and it was truly the highlight of our visit. This is one of the only Mauna Kea tours that leaves from the Hilo side, and we highly recommend it. It was a great value; money well spent. The guide was very helpful and informative about everything from botany to astronomy to local history, even if his headset microphone was a bit much for our little party of six. :)... more
The cheapest service to the summit but without any guarantee of customer satisfaction. In our trip, we trust them, but soon we realized that we should check by ourselves the weather forecast and road conditions before, because they hidden that the road was closed and they always said that the weather changes a lot, and the road could open quickly.... more
