Go at night to check out the glow of Kilauea. It is cold at night, so dress warmly. The museum has great information. Nice bathrooms.

I did not go inside since it was night time, but it has a great area overlooking the Kilauea volcano where you can see the steam plume and the glow of the lava at night.

A great place to learn more about the area, its history and the volcanoes within. We went back twice to take it all in.

Lots of information and resources to fill in your knowledge about what you are seeing. They monitor seismic activity here. Nice little gift shop.

A small museum that depicts the history of the volcano. Lots of siesmology equipment. A small shop selling the usual type of souvenirs. The viewing area is open all day and late into the night to allow visitors to come and see the "glow" of the volcano that cannot be seen during the day. The volcano is not an erupting... More

This museum was more interesting than it's description. It's small but has some neat stuff to look at. Best of all, you can see the caldera right outside. It's also a good place to stop for a nice bathroom.

A must need to stay late after everyone leaves. The crowds can become a little to much and the flashes make it difficult to take any time laps photos.

The best time to come to the volcano and to the museum is at night. The glow of the vent was colorful and large the nights we visited. Make sure you bundle up as the temperature difference from the place we stayed (Volcano Village Lodge) and the volcano was noticeable. Make sure you bundle up.

This is the place to go for all the action at the volcano right now. As the sun goes down, the glow intensifies. Stay until at least 7:00. (the earthquake monitors inside were amusing as well)
