My wife and I both took lessons with a guy named Teva. He was absolutely awesome (and I've taken lessons elsewhere around the world and never had an instructor half as good). We got up on the boards almost every time in the 90 minutes or so we were with him. Money very well spent. Important to check the weather... more

Must Do!!! Hanalei Beach is the safest beach to learn how to surf. You only have to go into the water about waist deep to catch a wave. If you really tried, you could surf the whole morning w/o getting your hair wet. They provide surf tech, soft top brand surf board which is another plus. The boards are really... more
