An unbelievably beautiful place, and a terrific testament to a happy marriage. The work carried out on this parcel of 240 plus acres has to be seen to be believed. My tour had Susan, an exceptionally knowledgeable volunteer guide, who was chatty, fun and extremely helpful. There is no way you could appreciate the magnitude of this undertaking without the... more

We took the full day tour, and had two very knowledgeable and friendly guides. The box lunch was generous and tasty. The gardens are beautiful and varied, and cover a range of altitude. Up on the plateau, just after we got to see several baby albatrosses, we also saw a wild boar cross the path behind us, followed by 7... more

We've been to Na Aina Kai several times on their tram and walking tours. This time we did something different. We booked our group of 8 adults and 6 preschool children on the two-hour Family Rainbow Tour. I called a week ahead to set up the tour and explain our needs so that when we arrived, they were ready for... more

I can't believe all the positive reviews. This place might be okay if it was free, but for $30 its a complete tourist trap. Our hotel had better maintained and more extensive gardens. The volunteer that ran our tour was very unprofessional and made several inappropriate comments. SKIP it!!! more

My (now) Husband and I thought we had found the perfect setting for our wedding only to discover that it was more trouble than it was worth thanks to the lazy, rude and worthless staff. We paid $1,200 for TWO HOURS and that was only for our wedding party to be confined to one small area and forbidden to leave... more

Rude Staff

I agree with the person below. Except I do not believe this place is properly staffed. Everyone from the phone to face to face is EXTREMELY rude and very hard to work with. The worst experience on my trip was here. more

I've been with to Na 'Aina Kai several times with my family, and every time we visit is always spectacular, yet a new experience because different flowers are in bloom. The staff offers both a tram tour and a walking tour - we've taken the tram tour twice because we have parents who can't walk far and the estate is... more

This was my second time on this tour and I was just as pleased as the first time. We selected the tram tour since a member of my party had mobility issues. Both times the tour guide has been gracious, well versed, and entertaining. The interaction between the guide and visitors keeps the tour interesting and time flies by quickly.... more

We visited Na Aina Kai in July '07 and chose a kid friendly tour for our 3 boys ages: 4, 6, & 9. The volunteer who led our tour provided our children with paper bags for "treasures" (leaves, seeds, flowers) that they would be allowed to collect along the way. They loved this. She let them feed some beautiful fish... more

This beautiful botanic garden may be visited only by booking a tour, which can be done at their website: www.naainakai.com. Frommers' gives this attraction 3 stars and the rating is well deserved. We booked the full 5 hour tour and were not disappointed, however shorter tours are available.. Each tour is led by a docent - or two for the... more
