I absolutely loved my tour with Maui Sunriders and, unlike the other poster, had absolutely no problem with his very polite request for a tip. Anyone who gets up before most people in the area go to bed day in day out deserves far more than we tipped. Expecting them to do it for the pittance the boss pays them... more

We had a blast on this trip! Remy was our tourguide and was very funny. (Pressing pretty hard for a tip however left a bad taste in our mouths.) The bikes were in pretty good shape, but the brakes were pretty squeaky. We did the sunrise ride, and it was awe inspiring! Make sure to dress warm! We wore sweatpants,... more

My wife and I recently went on our honeymoon to Maui. One of the few "must do" things on our list was to bike down Haleakalā. We made our reservations for a Wednesday to do the crater tour during the day because we were not going to get up at 2 a.m. for the sunrise tour. This meant we had... more

Just went for an express ride with sunriders. I definitely recommend this option since it is the cheapest around ($44 and 10% off if you book after 5pm) It starts at 9am and you have plenty of time to come down the volcano and enjoy the sights along the way! I would recommend going to see sunrise on another day... more

We went with Maui Sunriders and our guide was Shane. He is great. You wake up at 2:00 am (we stayed in Wailea) and you have to be at the shop at 3:00. It is so early, make sure you really want to do this on vacation! Bring cash - you might want to tip your guide (which everyone does,... more

A ride down Mt. Haleakala is a must when in Maui and we chose the sunrise unguided option. Maui Sunriders offered the best price around and the lived up full satisfaction in overall value and great customer service. While being required to be at the shop at Paia at 3a took quite a push of motivation, the end result was... more

Went on the 26 mile express tour. They offer a more expensive tour (20.76 pp) to take you on a 20 minute ride higher up through the national park. Due to new local rules everyone starts biking at the express drop off point, because commercial bikers are not allowed in the park. Our guides name was Remme. He issued helmets,... more

you must do the bike down haleakala. it is probably my favorite memory of maui. we stayed at the hyatt in lahaina, so we had to wakeup at 2am to be in paia. if you get motion sickness, take Dramamine because the drive up will make you nauseous (very curvy). it was a beautiful sunrise but dress warm (lots of... more

This past December my wife and I took our honeymoon trip to Maui, Hawaii. She nor I had ever been to the Island before and hoped we could soak up as much as possible in the 2 short weeks we visited. We heard great things about the bike trip from Haleakala so we figured we should try it out for... more

Me and my family we in Maui a few years ago and did a guided tour with Maui Mountain Cruisers. The ride was great, but we were really frustrated having to pull over all the time to let the cars pass, and the pace was slower than we would have liked. Not to mention it cost almost 200 bucks per... more
