It's a pretty place, but it's almost like they started building the park/trails and ran out of money in a month. There's just not too much to it. You can see it in a short amount of time. Many people expect a 2 hour adventure through lush peaks and mountain hikes. Iao Valley is a great place to visit, but don't think for a minute it is a full-day destination. From pretty much anywhere on Maui except maybe Pala its a short drive to the Iao Valley area and its well worth the time. This is one of those pristine, beautiful places that you definitely don't want to miss. more

Compared to the rest of Maui, this was a disappointment. Lots of people, very little to see, and dirty. Litter every where. Very commercialized. more
