My husband and I dropped in to Waiehu golf course while the younger members of our family were hiking in the mountains. We hadn't brought our golfing gear because we had read reviews saying the course was always so busy and often sent out six-somes. The course was beautiful and we could have easily played a round. Everyone was friendly... More

This course has great views but little else. Fairways were mostly dirt. Greens had a little trench around them and were fair at best. Paid the tourest rate of $75 with a cart and club rentals of $25 so a $100 to play most every hole in a 50 mile an hour crosswind. You will get lots of roll if you... More

I played this course a few years ago with my son and we recently decided to give it a try again. What a waste of time and money. The fairways and greens are in terrible condition, in fact some of them are no worse than a cow patch and some of them are so bad that a better description would... More

The golf course is probably the 'worst' on Maui if you try to compare it to resort courses that abound, but it's been THE place for locals to play and even though they allow 6somes, you can easily complete the par 72 course in 4 hours. it's $55 for green fees and $20 for a cart, but it's challenging, windy... For non-resident it's $50/round, $20 for club rental (Golden-Bear similar clubs) and $18 for gas cart (needed adjustment since I only ride electrical cart). Only cash will be accepted. Front nine is walkable but back nine is very hilly. I recommend the gas cart if you want to conserve energy for more activities with family later. Hole #6 and #7... More

My wife and I spent two glorious weeks on Maui this past month. To say that Waiehu is superb value is an understatement. The $50.00 walk on visitor rate ( plus Cart) is easily one of the most affordable I have seen. Compared to the Resort courses this is a such a great deal, it needs to be noted. The... More

This is my second trip to Maui. Last time, I played Kapalua Bay Course for $180. This time, I researched all of the resort courses and found that their fees were all about $150. The Dunes course looked interesting at $100, but it has been hot over here and that course is not near the ocean. Accordingly, I decided to... More

Grew up on Maui playing this course, we used to pay 3$/month (10 years ago) as juniors and play until we couldn't walk any more. That should give you an idea of it's "affordability." Three of the bottom nine are directly next to the ocean, and it's pretty easy to knock one in the waves. The fifth is a great... More
