If you have any doubt about seeing Acadia national park, one visit will erase that. Mount Desert Island is very beautiful. It is a large island, but at the same time it is small. Acadia National Park is beautiful and there are many lakes and mountains on the island in addition to the coastline. I enjoyed the towns of Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor, which were a little quieter than Bar Harbor and less commercial.... more

Absolutely beautiful park, with incredible ocean and mountain views and plenty of hiking trails. We had a picnic on the large rocks facing the ocean, which create incredible sprays when the tide comes in.
