Park your car and take the bus. They are environmental and you can take your bike along for the ride. Get off, hike a trail and get back on again.

What a great idea. The buses are in the 10th year and very successful. Less car traffic - they are free transportation - run on natural gas - no pollution and they take you anywhere in the park.

We wanted to do a hike on MDI in Acadia. Our plan was to start at one trail head and hike to another without coming back to the start. Park your car in Bar Harbor near "the green.' At the top of the green there is a spot near the police staion where you can wait for the bus. it will take you anywher you want to go on Mount Desert island.. It will even tke you into Ellsworth.You can bring your bike and dog on board.

The bus will take you around Acadia National Park. It makes stops at all the major attactions and a bus returns every 30 minutes. It is the best way to see the park.
