Even though we are both adults, the cool hand-on exhibits were still very fun for us!
Not particularly thrilling for adults, the displays are well thought out but I was already familiar with most of the things I saw there. We went on a weekday and the place was mobbed with schoolkids on field trips, they ran around like maniacs and didn't learn a thing.
You can spend a whole day here - really - kids won't get bored. Make sure you scope out enough time.
This was a really fun place to spend a few hours whether or not you have children. Lot's to do to keep occupied!
The Tactile Dome is the big draw, and worth it up to teen age group. Includes entry to rest of worthwhile (if not landmark) museum. Parking is a problem to be resolved with re-location in 2015.
We only got to stay the morning, but it was fantastic! The four story rainforest was really neat, especially with all the butterflies. The aquarium seemed interesting too, but we didn't get to spend much time there. Overall, a great experience for everyone in the family!
As an engineer, I love the hands-on style of The Exploratorium. I think almost every station/exhibit requires interaction from the kids (and adults). My 9 year old loved it, even if he did not read everything. However, I my 3 year old quickly bounced from one station to the next. I would not recommend it for those under 5. We...
