I was amazed by the submarine. I was not sure it would be that interesting when I decided to take the tour but I was pleasantly surprised. The crew beds are tiny and the torpedo tubes were amazing. The walk through this tin can gave me an understanding of what life on a sub must have been like.

This is an illuminating experience but without the audio tour it's not very good. It's puzzling that they offer this tour without the audio as they provide no other sources of information about the submarine. $12 is a lot to pay for this but if this interests you, you should pay the extra for the audio otherwise it's money wasted.

I never thought I would be walking around inside a WW2 submarine! It is in beautiful condition and absolutely fascinating to have some insight into what it was like during those war years. There are even torpedoes on board. we were. Dry fortunate as we were the only ones in there so we had the place to ourselves and got... More

A unique and amazing experience to go on board and through a WW2 submarine. Well presented and stunning to see how cramped living conditions were. Even with just a slight swell and moored it was tricky getting through the doors - to live for weeks on end like this? I could not imagine it. Under attack and in combat conditions.......... More

This was a really unique experience, which I almost missed. Quickly visiting the most famous places in San Francisco before flying back to Hungary, I found the submarine by mistake. It was a really impressive trip, probably the most valuable memory I brought home after visiting US / California.

My wife and I were visiting Fisherman's Wharf for our anniversary, so we decided to check out this actual WWII submarine while we were hanging out. It's not for everyone. I think a lot of kids might be bored with it unless they are really into history or military stuff. Definitely not a place for small or unruly kids, but... More

This tour was not worth the $12.00 I paid. I should have taken a hint from the poor attitude of the ticket taker. He never got off his cell phone to answer any questions or even greet me. I did not purchase the audioguide because I expected the tour to include informative displays or signs. There is absolutely no written... More

Great for anyone (not just boys!) curious about life under the sea during wartime--you walk through a real submarine fitted out more or less as it was during WWII--enough notes to allow self guided tour. We got a good deal on Groupon. Dont miss the Musee Mechanique across the street

If you have the time, you should check this submarine out. You get to walk through the whole submarines. Very interesting.
