Nice examples of Victorian architecture, like I've seen in multiple places before. But "painted"?? Really pretty bland and washed out. IF you're expecting to see the houses from the tv program Full House, prepare to be disappointed.

After all these years the ladies still produce smiles and that unique SF charm. They are a little ways away from the touristy parts of SF but they do provide a fun experience if you are out that direction. You can also lounge in the park nearby for a picnic if the weather is good.

We decided to walk to Almo Square from Embarcadero. I had seen the Painted Ladies as one of the things to do in San Fran. and it so wasn't worth the walk. When we got there we were like - it that it? The hop on hop off bus goes up here as part of the tour so if you're... More

We saw this site on our tour which was great. It really is an awesome site on the hill to see this Victorians with the city looming behind. It is just such a juxtaposition of architecture lined perfectly with the hill. There is a nice park that you can visit on the site but I think it is just seeing... More

If you are doing the touristy thing, might as well go ALL out and see the Painted ladies. Nice park across the street for a picnic or stroll as well.

No one can say that he´s been to San Francisco without visiting Painted Ladies and GG Bridge. You can take a bus or walk up there or even drive over from downtown. We decided to take a bus and return on foot. Actually, this was the best option for us. You get to visit the PL (close to Alamo Street)... More
