The tower, which stands atop Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. Obviously, you get spectacular views of the city but there really are other ways to get amazing views of the city. If your walking get prepared to walk steep inclines to get to the tower. The rickety elevator holds 10 people at a time and takes you almost to the... More

We took the stairs up on our way back from the Golden Gate Park, 400+ stairs and we made it! Great views from the top, you can see for miles.

A lot of the fun with Coit Tower is getting there. You see if from all over the place but are never quite sure how to get there. When you arrive via the narrow access road you find a very pleasant and quiet spot from which to view the City. The tower itself is of interest as well.

Be sure to visit Coit Tower to see the impressive frescos and the equally impressive 360 degree view of the city and the bay. Easy to reach via public transportation on the #39 bus. If you need a restroom, use one before you get to this attraction - they were not well-kept.

Coit Tower in SF has one of the best views over the city. You can see transamerica building from the tower without problem. The view on Alcatraz and Golden Gate is just mind blowing! Visit Coit Tower when you are in SF for sure!

We took the advice of other online reviews and decided not to pay to go to the top. The views from the base are great the murals inside are one of a kind and worht seeing. It's a hike to get there ... but it is San Francisco after all.

Looking for a great view of San Francisco then I recommend taking in the Coit Tower. Great history behind the making of this city landmark. The Art Deco/Depression era murals inside on the first floor are classic and worth viewing for a different take on the city mindset. California history buffs will appreciate it as well.
