A nice relaxing place in the city to jog or walk to clear your head. The proverbial place to literally stop and smell the roses (among other flowers).

Had a nice relaxing time visiting the gardens. There are a lot of benches to rest on and pretty plants, flowers to see. took lots of pictures just beautiful!
And so many wonderful plants, trees, shrubs, flowers... feast your eyes while strolling through the gardens....
There's lots of eco-climate areas to peruse. Amazing that in SF climate they are able to cultivate plants from many areas of the world. It's very peaceful to sit on a bench and contemplate, especially in the Japan moon view area. Picnics are not allowed so the gardens are clean. Non-residents now have to pay entry fee, sorry about that.
I love plants and am a member of my hometown botanical garden. This place has some nice areas and a lovely meadow but much of it is very unkempt and overgrown. Not what you expect in a botanical garden. Nice place to walk around but if you can only visit one garden in the park go for the tea garden.

the Botanical Gardens are a wonderful spot in Golden Gate Park, if you love plant's they have a lot to see, with different plant zone's, even a rain forest. This is a very large park but there is so much to do and see. The botanic gardens as well as the Japanese garden were well worth the trek.
Nice spot to spend the morning--not crowded, not noisy, not high tech--just wander and enjoy. Good for strollers and places for kids to run.
