The museum has 5 floors with many different exhibitions e.g. photography, modern paintings etc. There is always something interesting going on there. On the top floor there is a nice café where you can sit outside and relax in a very quiet setting (no view of the city from there though). Well worth the visit.

Closed Wednesday. Broke my heart to miss it this time. There is always something good going on. Cafe and gift shop are great.

We visited the Museum with great expectations. However, we found the collection to be surprisingly inferior for a city such as San Francisco. The collection would be fine in a small city collection. However, it is not what one would expect from a major museum in a major city.

I would not make it a priority , 20th century painting collection is good but small. Liked the Rineke Dijkstra collection of photos the best. The Klee's were nice as well. Admission price is high for what you get.

Beautiful if you are into modern art. Nice photography exhibit.

The first Tuesday of every month is free!!! The exhibits are done well and change frequently. Easy access from BART, comfortable, clean museum, great place to visit. I go there frequently.

I found the art museum more interesting than the science museum (Golden Bridge Park). But I did not find it very entertaining and quite small. Why do they ask money for this museum?

I'm not really into Modern Art, but I thought that this was a great museum anyway. There was an exhibit of Mexican photography that was really awesome. I would definitely visit again.
