This place was maybe something genuine but today it is no more than a cheapy amusement park, maybe interesting for children. The only funny thing might be the sea lions.

Fisherman's Wharf is one of the most popular sites in San Francisco, but it is pretty touristy. While is it interesting to see the seals and just walk around a bustling area, it lacks a lot of the elements that probably made it a fisherman's wharf before. It's hard to go to San Francisco without stopping here, but it doesn't...

I was there for the last time 10 years ago and it is really getting worst. Just made for tourists to spend their money. You need to see it but you don't want to spend much time there. There are so many better places in San Francisco.
Yes, it's touristy, but the atmosphere is fun. Check out Boudin's Bakery, try a clam chowder, give a wave to the sealions and take a wander through the shops. A fun and entertaining way to fill a few hours before checking out Alcatraz. A good, fun day out.
Prior to visiting San Francisco my wife and I did significant research , she with Travel Guides, while I used Trip Advisor to decide where we should stay in San Francisco.. Despite the touristy reputation (which is not problematic for us as we live in the Atlantic City area) we opted to stay in Fisherman's Wharf and use public transport to...

what a dump! dirty, touristy and disgusting. With the amount of money generated by visiting tourists SF council can afford to invest in a clean up and a decent revamp. Overall, the City is disappointing, the hype does not live up to the reality. There are far nicer, more genuine places to visit in the US, I won't be recommending...

A nice view of the bay, many places to eat and shop, and the visit to Alcatraz is a must do! I enjoyed every step i made through Fishermans Wharf.
Slightly dissapointed by this place, its always mentioned in all the guide books but in reality it serves two purposes, its a gateway to the bay and a tacky tourist centre with little appeal or recognition to San Francisco itself.
From what I saw, the restaurants were of average quality, aimed at the one time visitor and the shops much...

Fishermans Wharf is known worldwide but based on several visits over the past 30 years I think the magic is definitely gone and there is a need for a real make over for the whole place. Things you see and do there are expensive and tacky and the opportunity to enjoy the public spaces is curtailed by the dubious characters...

Very crowded but still enjoyed visiting. lots of shopping can be done here and plenty of places to eat. If you park in the garage you can get one hour discounted by eating at bubba gumps!
