Rick's enthusiasm for the history of San Francisco architecture is fantastic. This was my first visit to San Francisco and I had been walking the downtown / financial district myself for several days before I took the tour. But it wasn't until I took Rick's tour that I realized what amazing things were escaping my notice. San Francisco architecture does... More

A few months ago I went on Rick's Chinatown Walking Tour and was so impressed that I had find out more fascinating SF secrets. I was just shocked to learn that many of the buildings I walk by daily and take for granted have very important artistic and historic significance to our city, country, and internationally. Rick is thorough, well... More

A fascinating tour lead by someone who understands and has a great passion for architecture in San Francisco. Blends the old, from that built after the 1906 earthquake and fire, with new buildings still being built now. Rick explains how buildings work with people and the difficulties of balancing maintaining a heritage with the need for profitability to finance upkeep... More

A really interesting tour that opened our eyes to some of San Francisco's hidden architectural gems (new and old) and anecdotes. Rick's tour was highly recommended to us by friends, and he didn't disappoint. His enlightening commentary gave us an insight into things that the guide books simply don't cover. Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits...thanks Rick!

Can't say enough good things about this tour. I'm always looking for different when it comes to tours and this was perfect. Rick is incredibly knowledgable and it's amazing the level of detail and knowledge he shares about the city - the history, planning, architecture, the 1906 fire and the people - all within within a few square blocks. I'm... More

If you only have time for one tour when you are in San Francisco take this one. Rick is an expert at informing, enthusing and entertaining you as he takes the small group on the walking tour of the old Finacial District. You feel as if a friend has taken you on a strol.

This tour was inspiring and full of interesting stories on the buildings in San Francisco. As a bonus, you will also learn about where to find little-known public spaces in the city!

I've been to SF many times since I was 18 but never took a tour. I can't wait to go back and take Rick's other tours and even take this one over again. There was just so much to learn that I bet I'd pick up something new each time. He obviously loves his city and sharing it with others.... More

The tour was incredibly informative. We are always looking for different things to do. One tip: use the bathroom before, and bring a bottle of water with you.
