It was a real experience riding this cable car. San Francisco is a very nice city worth visiting in this old units. The car is operated by one man who excerts huge human force to start it and stop it, so sometimes it stops right before a crash, and it makes it exciting. There are people hanging outside the car,... It is close to Ghirardelli square so if you are in the area it is a good picture opportunity.

Cable cars are really beautiful from the outside, but it's too crowded inside, so you can just can't enjoy the trip at a fantastic place like SF. 6 bucks a bit much for that...

Loved the actual riding of the cable cars, didn't like the over hour wait in line.

We were based at the Holiday Inn at Fishermans Wharfe, we took a 5min walk on a very cold day to board the "trolley car".The queue was very long, was it worth the wait we thought ??however the crowd made it for us, they were all very chatty and friendly, everyone talking to each other, we waited 20 mins, then... The San Francisco Cable Car is mainly for tourists but a fun way to get to Fisherman’s Wharf and Union Square. This makes it busy and with limited space, it’s easy to miss the cable car. There is a $5 fixed one way charge, no matter how far you are going. Cash only but worth the experience. We’d suggest you... More

We were excited to ride the Classic Cable Car Holiday tour as it advertised riding a cable car while seeing the holiday lights under a blanket and singing Christmas carols. It sounded like a fun family outing. We chose the tour leaving from Union Square. Our first mistake was assuming these were true San Francisco cable cars. These cars do... More

Our overall experience was disappointing to say the least. We had pre-paid for our tickets arrived on site at 1:28 using the time calibrated by the local cell phone network. The driver hadn't pulled out from his bay, and pointed us to head to the kiosk. We went to the kiosk, and the salesperson pointed to our cable-car and told... More

Up and down in San Francisco with the cable car is really great fun and a good way to do a sightseeing tour. There are 3 cable car routes, I took a ride on the Pwell/Hyde one. The Powell-Hyde line begins at the Powell Market turntable, runs over Nob and Russian hills and ends at the Aquatic Park near near... More

We loved the tour all over the city. Well worth the money. Our driver knew his way around town. He didn't waste any time. We were able to stop to take photos at two different sites. Best thing we did our whole vacation.
