Touristy but so calm and peaceful. Lots of ideas for those interested in landscaping. I could spend hours there.

We last went in spring when the cherry blossoms and Azalea's were in bloom. It was a cloud of pink flowers around the tea house. It's beautiful in any season.

This is a nice and quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Very serene, and if I had more time, I could see just going there to relax and enjoy the scenery for a while. This was our first time and we were in a hurry so we were in and out within 30 minutes. Very pretty... More

Tea and cookies were fine, but mean ladies (servers) were not fine. I did not find the place inviting at all.

We took Muni bus #28 from the Golden Gate Bridge and arrived at the Japanese Tea Garden in the afternoon. As soon as we stepped into the garden, we sense that serenity around. No doubt, it takes away the frustration that I had with the Golden Gate bridge in the morning. The garden is beautifully landscaped. I couldn't stop taking... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to San Francisco. The garden was beautiful and peaceful. There were so many different areas to explore. We went on Friday morning when there was no admission fee, and there was somewhat of a crowd, but you hardly noticed it. The garden still remained quite tranquil. If we had had time,... More

Such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of San francisco! The garden is situated inside the Golden Gate park and not very well sign-posted. But its worth the effort to find it. Quite an expensive entry fee but I guess it takes a lot to maintain these truly beautiful gardens. However,if you are a foreigner and have passport you get... More

I'm giving this as excellent just because it was so beautiful. The tea was delicious and exactly what was needed since it was a cold, rainy day. I would go again.

I loved this little garden. It was pretty small but really lovely. Really well planned and really beautiful.
