I would not recommend bringing small children to this museum. It's more of a story being told while you go through the museum so it's alot of reading and yes seeing memorabilia. It was fun to see the replicia of Disneyland towards the end which was circa late 70's. I remembered those rides.

The life of Walt Disney is told in an interesting and fascinating way. Learn about the history cartoon animation and Disney's role in developing it. The artifacts, exhibits are really fun and educational. They even have a few of his Oscars on display.

While visiting San Francisco we were searching for George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic Studio and in our search we ran across this Museum. It is located in several renovated old army barracks and if you are a Disney buff, this place is cool. The museum contains all of Disney's awards, the first ever Multiplane camera, displays of his drawing... More

You may have thought that Walt Disney was a great leader of a entertainment company but this museum shows us what a genius and talented artist he was. He believed in himself and did not let failure, the Great Depression, the Second World War or labour strikes stop him. He often risked his home (he mortgaged it a few times)... More

Next time we will reserve a whole day instead of just four hours for this museum. it is packed with information about how Walt developed his ideas through the decades. It tells about his childhood and family. Fascinating video and audio clips will keep you entranced with the cronological story of how the Disney animated films were created. Adults and... More

This isn't a silly museum filled with stuffed animals and dumb cartoons. It's about Walt Disney, the man. It includes excellent interactive exhibits about his childhood, his creating and managing the studio, the movies, the TV shows and the theme parks. Each exhibit is presented in an imaginative way. For example, there's a long wall covered with animation cells that... More

The story of Mr. Disney’s life and career is told chronologically through 10 galleries plus the lobby, which houses awards and items of appreciation; from Academy Awards (including the special one for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) to keys to cities around the world. The galleries begin on the first floor and continue on the second, linked by elevator.... More

Love the way Walt Disney's whole life is set out for you beginning to end by walking a spiral ramp. I spent 4 hours in the museum and could have spent all day. So much to read and watch from his earliest life to his creation of Disneyland. If you love everything Disney as I do, you will love this... More

We spent about 3 hours here so pay your parking meter accordingly. Hard to find, or maybe I should say hard to find your way into the Pressidio where it is located. Parking in the large lot out front. Not cheap. But very interesting. Lots of details about Walt the man.
