It is best to visit during the day when it is not too crowded and service is only brusque as opposed to the occasional downright mean and awful. Not the best draft selection in SF but they will have some hard to find great beers at very good prices. Just remember that if the bartender seems grumpy to you, they... More

Great beer selection, clean taps and glassware. Staff could be a little more courteous. Very small local bar but a fun atmosphere.

We were recently in SF for the day and decided to recreate Anthony Bourdain's Layover San Francisco. So we decided to stop in here and give it a pint, or 2..... Total dive bar in the heart of the Haight. A huge selection of beers on tap at reasonable prices. I'm jealous that I don't have a local pub like... More

It's dirty and dive-y and I love it! There are probably 50+ brews on tap. We saw a few dog visitors in the bar. You can bring your our food in. Usually crowded. Cash only.

All of the positive reviews are true. This is a great place. Be sure to got to the place next door, called Rosamunde and get some sausage sandwiches. Bringing them into Toronado is no problem. In fact, it's easier to go to Rosamunde in the Mission, which has a great beer selection and sausages in the same place. Anyway, you... More

Toronado can't be beat for beer selection or price. They don't serve food so bring your own. Dogs are welcome.

This is a great bar in the lower Haight. Tons of character with good bartenders, each with their own individual style. If you come here, then the place is so neat that you just fit in and go with however it works. Vast beer selection with many Belgium-style brews. But I liked the Moonlight -- Twist of Fate a lot!... Officially now one of my favorite bars...anywhere... Stopped in on a work (shhh!) trip to sample some west coast brews and was not disappointed. We stopped in around 4 which was perfect as the bar wasn't crowded at all. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that everything was a buck off for happy hour. I mean, seriously, I would... More

As someone who enjoys trying new beers when travelling, this place was a mecca. If you think that Budweiser and Miller a great beers then this isn't the place for you as your tastes aren't sophisticated enough to appreciate the microbrews and ales on sale here. There's 50 beers on draught (all listed on a blackboard along with their ABV... More
